Pierre Guariche G1 chair designed in 1953 and made by Airborne, France.

This is most likely to be the 1970s edition that was sold through French retailer Prisunic. Prisunic was similar to Habitat in the UK, introducing exciting modern design to French consumers, working with designers such as Terence Conran, Marc Held, Jacques Tissinier, Marc Berthier and Gae Aulenti.

Black tubular frame with canvas fabric sling cover, laced with cord underneath.

In good vintage condition, the black canvas has faded to a nicely worn grey. Very comfortable.

Love looking at kid’s furniture design from the 50s-70s. All of these feature in the aforementioned ‘New  Furniture’ volumes (Gerd Hatje and Elke Kaspar).
