A ‘Red & Blue chair’ originally designed by Gerrit Rietveld in 1918. Vertical and horizontal lengths of solid teak with veneered plywood seat, the design still looks extraordinary over 100 years later.

Age unknown but a nicely made example. All sturdy, there are some concealed brackets added under the backrest bar.

66.5cm wide x 88cm high x 81cm deep x 33.5cm seat height.

Love looking at kid’s furniture design from the 50s-70s. All of these feature in the aforementioned ‘New  Furniture’ volumes (Gerd Hatje and Elke Kaspar).
